Behavior Expectations
In order to maintain a safe and comfortable learning environment for all students here, there are high expectations placed on behavior in my classroom.
Students are expected to be careful, caring, and courteous at all times while following the ABC rules of our school.
Students consistently showing respect and following the rules will always be acknowledged.
Their positive behavior contributes to a safe and welcoming environment.
Students who are caught working extra hard to follow the rules can help earn:
- table points for their team
- high point scores in special classes
- compliments from other teachers

I have three expectations for a positive fifth grade experience. They are: Be responsible for your learning, Respect your teacher and classmates and cooperate with your teacher and classmates. Students will learn specfic ways to meet these expectations the first week of school and we will refer to them throughout the year.
Classroom DOJO
Our classroom will be working on a strike system with our motto being “Swing for Today to be a Hit!” Strikes are symbolized by clothespins.
No Strikes: No difficulties in class and a beautiful learning day! Earn at least one Dojo Point!
One Strike- Second warning (discusses behavior; loses 5 minutes recess, one Dojo point)
Two Strikes- Multiple warnings (discusses behavior; 10 minutes recess lost, one Dojo point)
Three Strikes - Time out from the room and a note home. Students will write an explanation of their behavior to be signed and returned to school the following day.
Students who are consistently causing disruption and have three (3) notes, bus referrals, and/or
calls home over the course of a month risk a referral to our behavior interventionist or the office.
